Sarah Ailine (Stone) Capps

Sarah Ailine (Stone) Capps passed away about an hour ago. She was much to perfect for this World as the Alzheimer's set in but she needed to be here to teach us and love us. I am so privileged to be named after her. Our sweet little Taylor shares a middle name and a birthday with her. Each time we celebrate her birthday we will remember Grandma and he pure love that she has shared with us these last many years.

We will miss Grandma dearly but we know that Heavenly Father needed her home with Him now and that she has been released from so many years of pain and frustration.

Like Leata said to me the other day when we were explaining things to her "She will be with Jesus and Heavenly Father!" Then she smiled really big and said "And her Leata!" Leata was so happy that Grandma would be going to such a good place. There was no fear or sadness in her eyes or in her voice. She was happy and so matter of fact. I wish I had faith as strong as hers. But I know without a doubt she is right.

(Our Leata is named after my Grandparent's daughter Leata, who passed away not long before she turned 4, of meningitis.)

Grandma, hug Leata Dean tight for us! I know she is in your arms right now.

My Grandma

My Grandma fell not long after we left Arizona. Because of this we discovered that her heart was only working at 5-10% capacity. She broke her femur and chipped her hip when she fell and had to have surgery. Because her heart was so weak and enlarged, we didn't know if she would make it through the surgery. She did but a couple of days after the fall we found out just how bad things were. My mom and my brother Collin and sister Ann were all there when this all happened. We were out there earlier in the week last week. My mom and Collin and Ann were driving home when grandma took a turn for the worse. Mom drove Collin and Ann the rest of the way home and flew back to AZ with Kendall. They flew to AZ yesterday and I just got a call from Kendall telling me that Grandma is not well at all and everyone thinks it will be very soon. Very possibly tonight.
Please pray that Grandma can be comfortable and at peace. She's struggling with a lot of pain right now. Also, if you would, pray for Grandpa, Mom, Uncle John, Aunt Chris and all of the family and friends that love her and will miss her so much.

I am so glad that we were able to see her less than two weeks ago. Those memories are happy memories.

Here's a quick video of her playing the harmonica just earlier this month.

We've been in Arizona visiting family and friends for almost the last week. I am hoping to write about it and post some fun pictures as soon as I get a minute.....

Stuff

Not much going on here right now.

The house stuff is still the same. No news on the new one and not much happening with the current one. I should probably get more motivated! We would love to stay here but there just isn't enough room really.

Mark is getting close to real crawling. He gets up on his hands and knees. He can get around faster scooting though so it's his preferred method of transportation. He loves to feed himself and is a huge mess! It does seem that he may have a problem with depth perception beyond just normal 10 month old stuff so I need to ask the doctor about that. He's well though and oh so cute!

Taylor is, well, Taylor. She is trouble but she is also very good at helping! She likes to help clean and bake and feed Mark. She is really good a picking up toys and gets much less distracted than Leata and gets much more done. She still thinks that helping is fun. She loves to wear dresses and would much rather wear a dress than any sort of pants, jeans, etc. We have found a lot of good clearance deals on just cute knit dresses and she wears a dress most of the time.

Leata is getting excited at the prospect of going to school this year. August can't come fast enough for her! Because we might be moving we aren't sure where she will be going to school yeat but we did put her name in the lottery at the charter school where my sister, Kendall, teaches. We visited the school a couple of weeks ago and she loved it! The kindergarten teacher we met was so kind and sweet and fun. Leata did not want to leave.
Leata can write her letters and is learning how to read and spell. She catches on very quickly. She loves to learn! She also has know her numbers for a very long time and is pretty good at simple addition and subtraction. We are going to work with her more over the Summer on all of this. We might as well take advantage of her enthusiasm!
