Mark is now almost six and a half pounds. He is gaining weight really well! Before we know it he will be double his smallest, 3 lbs 7 oz. In just a few days he should be 6 lbs 14 ozs! My babies don't gain weight like this! I am SO pleased that he is gaining so well and getting to be stronger.
We found out that he is severely anemic and this is likely why he is so sleepy and SO hard to wake up. They have doubled his iron and we are hoping that he does not need a transfusion. Tonight he seemed to be waking up and more responsive.
We should have him home with us sometime next week. Hopefully early next week sometime. He's doing very well with his feedings right now and if he continues he will be out of there. He is completely off caffeine, oxygen and all but one monitor and they keep that one on them until they leave the hospital. We are getting close. We even were asked to bring his carseat in so that they can do the carseat trial on him, something they don't do until they are really close to coming home!!! We can't wait to have our little boy home with us!

Won't it be WONDERFUL when you don't have to drive drive drive any more?! And Mark can eat on his own schedule. And the girls can stay at home. And A.J. can go to work. Hooray for Mark!!!
