Leata's First Day At Noah Webster Academy

Leata had her first day of school today. She is in Ms. Thompson's class. We are so pleased with this because Ms. Thompson is amazing! She is so good and she knew a lot about Leata because she knows my sister Kendall, who also teaches at Noah Webster.

A.J. took Leata in and they said hi to Mrs.Harris (aka Auntie Kendall) and brought her a cinnamon roll before she went to her class.

She went to her class and A.J. helped her put things where they were supposed to be and helped her get settled. She was quickly ready for him to leave her there. :)

At 1130 (she starts at 830 and finishes at 1130) A.J. picked her up and they went to get a special lunch at Taco Bell. They came home and I asked her how her first day of school was and she said "It was a piece of cake!" Hand motion and all. Her teacher taught her that. Ms.Thompson also gave her a couple little pictures that looked like cake that said "My first day of kindergarten was a piece of cake!" One had a Hostess cupcake attached. So cute!

Leata got home and immediately wanted to do her homework. They are required to do 20 minutes of reading each night (that can be her reading to us or us reading to her). She can read a lot already so I make her do some of it. She is very unsure of herself though so she is very quiet and hesitant. I have been amazed at the words she sounds out though!

She had a great first day and is so excited to go back in the morning and even more excited for Friday when she goes an extra hour and gets to have lunch at school!
